Engine Dyno

Adapted to petrol (up to E100), diesel and CNG (280bar) engine with top range equipment, this high dynamic engine dyno offers a high level of versatility and is able to answer to most engine development issues :

  • Performance measurement and development

  • Engine calibration optimization: automated calibration, DOE, data post processing

  • Combustion analysis

  • After treatment development and optimization ( Catalysts, Diesel and gasoline Particles Filter, SCR, Nox Trap…)

  • High dynamic engine testing and vehicle simulation: RDE, normative cycles simulation WLTP, FTP75,…

  • Regulated and non-regulated pollutants measurement

  • CO2 emissions and fuel consumption measurements

Our test cell is composed of the following main equipments :

  • AVL Dynoroad 302/10 asynchronous machine. Nominal capicities : 330 kw/700 Nm/10 000 tr/min

  • Torquemeter HBM T40 – 3 kNm

  • Temperature and humidity regulated combustion air

  • Intake air mass flow meter (ABB Sensiflow)

  • Dynamic temperature control for water, oil and turbocharged air

  • Coriolis fuel flow meter AVL 735S + AVL 753C conditioner (E100 compatible)

  • 2 high capacity cooling fans controlled by vehicle speed (normative emission cycle simulation)

  • 4 additional cooling fans with local temperature  closed loop control

Equipped with a range of I/O channels, the bench is able to perform most of the acquisitions required for engine operation analysis:

  • 32 10Hz temperature inputs

  • 48 200Hz analog inputs

  • 16 5kHz analog inputs

  • 16 numeric I/O

  • 24 analog outputs

  • 12 PWM outputs

  • 6 channel counter inputs

  • 4 Lambda channels (Etas ES 631)
